Turbo chargers and Superchargers

It's always tempting to just go to a customization shop and get all the upgrades you can get to your engine. Not a very good idea, not only does it leave your wallet dry, some upgrades don;t really work well with others. There are a lot of performance upgrades available on the market. You really do have to think long and hard on what to get. It's always best to ask for help from others rather than talking to a mechanic who's always selling you something.

Superchargers and turbochargers both improve your engine by blowing compressed air to the cylinders and in turn improves the engines performance. Although they both do the same thing, there is a difference in how they do it.

Superchargers are powered through the crankshaft and geartrain. While the turbocharger is powered by exhaust gases. Since turbochargers are powered by exhaust gases, it does tend to heat up a bit faster. The usual solution is to get an intercooler so that turbochargers can work without overheating.

So getting a turbocharger or supercharger does help improve your engine a lot. But don't forget, by getting this upgrade, you might end up spending a bit more because turbochargers do need intercooler turbos to run properly.
